Tintronic’s wire strip/trim and lead-free solder dip of an RFI filter in a power supply application was for a medical industry client. The company trimmed 5 18AWG wires and completed lead-free hot solder dip (tinning) using a custom-designed trimming tool and manual solder-dipping station with a SAC 305 solder alloy. The finished product conformed to tight tolerances: .750” ±.125” on the wire length and .250” ±.125” on the strip length. Visual and final inspections ensured the high-volume production runs met customer-supplied specifications as well as IPC-A-610D and IPC J-STD-001E-2010 standards.
